As a classically trained musician, he conceived a blend of oboe, English horn, and strings with guitar and drums, and presented instrumental interpretations of hits of the day. Played Illya Kuryakin on The Man From UNCLE 1964-68. Performing in The Melodiers, a band he organized in the late 1920s, Mac’s real passion was playing goal for the Arnprior Green Shirts. If not for WW2, he might have made it to the NHL. He began his professional career as a singer-songwriter playing drums and washboard in The Ottawa Valley Melodiers in 1948 and released several singles for Rodeo records in the late 1950s. Rodeo, on its Banff label, put out 11 albums by the Melodiers with most songs written by Mac about people and places in the Ottawa Valley. In this song, Mac reminisces about the summer nights playing under the stars on the shores of the Ottawa River. Steel guitar player Al Utronki later ran Al Utronki's Appliance and TV - Television & Appliance shop in Renfrew

Fresh out of high school back in the late-1970s, Lloyd Cheechoo was in Moose Factory playing drums and a bit of guitar in a band with his cousins. One day a fiddle player named Clarence Louttit asked Lloyd a favour: someone from the Oji-Cree Cultural Centre was recording local artists for a compilation, and Louttit wanted to know if Cheechoo could add some guitar to his tracks. Once that was done, the recorder said, “Hey Lloyd, do you have any songs?” So it happened that Cheechoo contributed two songs to a compilation called Goose Wings. Others on this compilation album include Lawrence Martin, Vern Cheechoo and Roger House.

b. Toronto December 19, 1944 / d. December 13, 2002, in Kingston, ON, from a heart attack
So what’s with O Canada at the beginning of the album? And why is it left to die on the platter. Could it be how Zally was feeling after being deported from America back to his home and native land? The way I see it: ‘Ya, I’m back alone in Canada again without a career just for smokin’ some weed. Bummer man – a real bummer! After recording this lone solo album which was way ahead of its time, he got into the restaurant industry in Kingston.
He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1996
Interesting fact:
Yanovsky met Canadian actress Jackie Burroughs in a Laundromat in Toronto, where he was sleeping in a dryer while homeless. They were married in 1961 and had one daughter, Zoe, before separating in 1968.

The band decided to name themselves Night Ranger after the song that Jack Blades had written for the album. The record company destroyed the copies with the band name Ranger. Their first three albums, Dawn Patrol, Midnight Madness, and Seven Wishes, all reached RIAA Platinum status and garnered the band international fame.

b. Calgary AB Nov 15, 1967
She only released two really good albums of her music and currently spends most of her energy painting abstract canvasses in really cool colours. This album – her second called ‘Sweet’, should have spurred her career along but didn’t. It’s a great album and I love this song, Everyday. Just great players were used and James Stephens (of Six Mile Bridge) has his fingerprints all over it – in a good way. Jennifer’s still involved with music but hasn’t submitted a third CD of original songs yet but I hear she’s working on it.

Bands like King Crimson formed around the same time as It’s A Beautiful Day, Renaissance and Curved Air. Rock bands featuring flutes and violins, using orchestral sounds of mellotrons to shape the sound of their music.
