Produced by David Celia, 2015
Recorded at The House of Miracles
Mastered by Andy Magoffin at The House of Miracles

As far as I’m concerned… David Celia is one of those guys who might be one of those guys who fall under that category of “one of the best unknown talents in town”. An excellent, tasty and unique guitarist who seems to coax just about any sound he wants out of his instrument. He creates a Beatlesque pop from his songs while remaining heavy enough to brand them his own. I’ve followed his career since the release of his first CD, watching him grow and just get even better. His 2015 album was released on vinyl, made in the UK and transported back to Canada in his luggage.

David Keith McCallum
b. 19 September 1933 Glasgow Scotland / d. 25 September 2023 (90) NYC

As a classically trained musician, he conceived a blend of oboe, English horn, and strings with guitar and drums, and presented instrumental interpretations of hits of the day. Played Illya Kuryakin on The Man From UNCLE 1964-68. Such was the popular hysteria surrounding him that he was referred to in newspaper reports at the time as ‘the blond Beatle’ or the ‘fifth Beatle’. While playing Kuryakin, McCallum received more fan mail than any other actor in the history of MGM

Robert David: guitar, vocal

Mastered by Jon Van Wingerden, Audio Valley Recording Studio

Robert David was a little known singer-songwriter outside of Montreal who put out a few cassettes and a CD of his eclectic songs. What I like about his recorded work is that it’s raw, emotional and far reaching and certainly not very commercial. East of the Sun is maybe an exception to that.

Cincinnati, OH
David Crockett: guitar
Sam “Stovepipe” Jones: vocal, jug (stovepipe)
Unknown jug, pipe, mandolin, guitar
Produced by Samuel Charters, 1963
Recorded Atlanta GA, Nov 1930

Samuel Charters wrote: KDJB is one of the shadowy country groups who were recorded and forgotten; their names lost somewhere in a company file. The music, however, is not shadowy, but is in the best country tradition of rough “breakdown” dances. The jug, in this case, may be a piece of pipe, and it is interesting to notice that it is being used as a lead instrument. The singer, who also seems to be playing a jug, alternates choruses between instrument and the voice.

When the popular British TV series Danger Man (starring Patrick McGoohan) was shipped to America, they wanted a new theme song which Sloan and Berri wrote and demo'd (as Danger Man). When the Americans wanted a name change (to Secret Agent Man), they changed the title and got Johnny Rivers to perform it. He did it as a 15 second intro for the series. However, audience demand sent Rivers back to Sloan and Barri for a re-write and the song was recorded for general release. As usual, Rivers did most of his recordings live, off the stage at the Whiskey A Go Go in LA.

Although they’ve gotten together now and then for re-unions, the band basically lasted until 1986.

b. April 2, 1942 Lawton, Ok / d. Nov 13, 2016 (74) Mount Juliet, TN

Side one of this album features the typical keyboard styling’s of Leon Russell while side two goes very strange with psychedelia. As a pianist, he played in his early years on albums by The Beach Boys. On his first album, Leon Russell, in 1970, the musicians included Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison. One of his biggest early fans, Elton John, said Russell was a "mentor" and an "inspiration". They recorded their album The Union in 2010, which earned them a Grammy nomination.

Russell produced and played and recorded with, among others  Jan and Dean, Gary Lewis, George Harrison, Delaney Bramlett, Freddy Cannon, Ringo Starr, Doris Day, Elton John, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, The Byrds, Barbra Streisand, The Ventures, Willie Nelson, Badfinger, the Tijuana Brass, Frank Sinatra, The Band, Bob Dylan, J. J. Cale, B. B. King, Dave Mason, Glen Campbell, Joe Cocker, The Rolling Stones, and The Flying Burrito Brothers.
