In the late 1990s, McLauchlan was flying commercial airplanes as a "bush pilot" in Northern Canada.

Manfred Sepse Lubowitz b. 21 October 1940 (age 77) Johannesburg, South Africa

Between 1959 and 1961 he and his childhood friend Saul Ozynski recorded two albums as the Vikings – South Africa's first rock and roll band.Opposed the South African government’s apartheid system, he moved to the UK in 1961 and began to write for "Jazz News" under the pseudonym Manfred Manne (after jazz drummer Shelly Manne). His first UK band was called The Mann-Hugg Blues Brothers and were soon signed to EMI. They were urged to change their name to Manfred Mann. They recorded massive hits throughout the rest of the 60s before evolving into the jazz-fusion Earth Band. They’ve continued to perform and made their last record in 2006.

Early owners of each copy of The Good Earth were entitled to rights over 1 square foot of the earth situated at Llanerchyrfa in the County of Brecon, in Wales. The inner sleeve included a coupon that had to be sent for registration. This was part of the promotion activities linked to the album that had ecological inspirations. There was no swindle and thousands of fans were registered. Registration could be done on or before 31 December 1975

Francesco Soda born in Mangone, Calabria, Italy. Emigrated with his family to Canada in 1957. Grew up in Kitimat, BC where he started playing guitar in the early '60s. His first band The Roots of Innocence went on to win the BC Northwest Battle of the Bands in 1969. After moving to Toronto in 1980 signed a record deal with Quality. Moved back to BC in 1988 and worked with a number of artists including Aerosmith, Loverboy, Bryan Adams, Randy Bachman, and Trooper.

The Monks were an English pop punk/new wave band, formed in the late 1970s by three former members of Strawbs—Richard Hudson (guitar), John Ford (vocals, guitars, synthesisers) and Brian Willoughby. The band were particularly popular in Toronto! Their surprise pop hit Drugs in My Pocket peeked at number 4 on Toronto’s CHUM Radio Chart. In 2012, the Canadian musician Thomas D'Arcy organized The Monks Bad Habits Tribute show at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, which featured Ford and members of Sloan, The New Pornographers, Change of Heart, and released a track-by-track cover album.

This was Whitfield’s first jab at producing The Temptations. Until then they were under the tutilage of Smokey Robinson. But since their last hit single, ‘Get Read’, didn’t do so hot, Whitfield was given his chance to produce. The song was a mega-hit that went all the way up the Billboard charts to number 3.

Ted Wesley was born in Abercorn, formerly in Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia, Africa, of Polish refugee parents.  At six he movedto England, then at nine he emigrated with his family to Edmonton."first came north at age 16, and went to work for Discovery gold mine north of Yellowknife.  "I lied to them, told them I was 18," he says. Now living in Northern Alberta  still performing.

The MacKenzie Highway (or road) begins at Grimshaw, norhtern Alberta and drives north to Yellowknife.

Bette Graham (b. Kendal in the Lake, England, UK 1932 – d. 1998)

A lounge singer/huge hit throughout Canada in the 60s, 70s. She recorded two albums for CBC, two for Quality and one for London Records. She apparently always got the premium gigs such as Expo ‘67, the Cave Supper Club and even performing in front of Pierre Trudeau once.

Adrien Avon (1906-1982) was one of the few fiddlers (he learned from his father Napoleon Avon) of his time to have a classical training. He was a member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra from 1935 to 1950. His orchestra was known as "des Diables Noirs" (The Black Devils).

He had been a truck driver and had a song written for him by Stompin’ Tom: it was called Bud The Spud but he failed to record it (so Connors did the honours himself!). He had a rocky professional music career, put out a couple of albums and had a few minor hit songs, including Jimmy Simpson’s ‘Alcan Run’. He passed away on may 15th 2011

Triumvirat was often referred to as the ‘German Emerson, Lake & Palmer’ or ‘ELP clone’ due to Fritz's classical virtuosity on keyboards and synthesizers. They toured the United States with Fleetwood Mac to support Illusions on a Double Dimple, playing the album in its entirety.

In 2015 album Illusions on a Double Dimple (1974) was ranked number 45 in the Rolling Stone list of 50 Greatest Prog Rock Albums of All Time.
