Already partially blind in 1 eye, Roy lost the use of his good eye last December
Forbes had already lost one eye, his right, due to glaucoma when he was six years old. It forced him to wear a glass eye. An avid record collector (especially 78 RPM platters), Forbes is also continuing his work as the host of Roy’s Record Room, his radio show which can be heard on Sundays at noon Pacific on the CKUA network.

Kenneth Wayne Paul Tobias (born July 25, 1945)
Wrote The Bells hit song “Stay Awhile” 1971 which sold over 2 million copies.

By 1965, he'd moved to Halifax and become a regular performer on CBC TV's afternoon program, "Music Hop." & a couple of years later on "Singalong Jubilee" along with Anne Murray, where he was allowed to sing his own compositions. He moved to LA a couple of years later, where he wound up as a writer for Bill Medley (Righteous Brothers). The connections with Medley led to his songs ending up in the hands of the likes of Ricky Nelson and The Everly Brothers, Anne Murray, The Beach Boys. Spent time at Neil Young’s ranch writing songs in California. Currently living back in New Brunswick.

In late 1996, he fended off a pair of intruders in his parents' home. Beaten by the assailants, he sustained serious head injuries, and died from his injuries at the age of 51

Hi Ya Steve, wonderful to hear from you, long time no speakum. Congrats on your expansion to CIOE in Sackville, their going to love your show down there.I'm going to be in that neck of the woods next month as I have been invited back to perform at the 20th. anniversary celebrations of the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame in Truro. Rock It All Night Long is a song I wrote one night in Grimsby at the club, recorded it there and stuck it on the album as a fill in. (1982). Ed on guitar, Eric Saamanen on bass, Garnet Sinker on drums and Bruce Rolls on sax, (Eddy M and the Memories). Thanks for doing this Steve, it brings back a lot of memories to an old Rockabilly player from yesterday. Two of your shows that I really enjoyed were the ones with the Duke and Dutchy Mason. Keep up the great work, your a true Canadian and one in a million.

Terry Black - Born: February 3, 1949, Vancouver - Died: June 28, 2009, Kamloops
Black's debut U.S. single, "Unless You Care", was released in 1964, when Black was 15.
Black had major Canadian hits with Poor Little Fool & Only Sixteen
He released a Sloan-Barri produced album,Only Sixteen in 1965, on the Canadian ARC Records label
Black joined the cast for the Toronto production of Hair! also in 1969. He married a member of the cast, Laurel Ward, in 1970, and from 1972 to 1982 the pair released several singles together as Black and Ward. He suffered from multiple sclerosis
Laurel Ward move to Toronto when she was 17 to persue a musical career. In Toronto, she connected with Sid Dolgay of folk group The Travellers as well as record producer Bill Gilliland of Arc Records. While appearing in the Toronto production of Hair, Laurel met former teen idol Terry Black as well as band leader Doug Riley. In the fall of 2009 Laurel was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease

Became Linda Ronstadts Music Director and Pianist. A year later, he joined Janis Joplins, Pointer Sisters
Moved to Toronto in the late 70s to form the rock group Kearney
1985 JUNO Award Nominee as Best Jazz Recording for Avenue B
Currently host of CIUTs Bill King Show, Thursdays 9:00-10:00am.
